Roulette bets: what should you bet on?

There is some tension between those roulette players who prefer to bet a chip and those who prefer to split their money over multiple bets. For me, the one-chipper has the right idea because a chip can actually be a bet on several numbers.

That’s right.

If you take a look at the main bets in roulette, odd / even, red / black and high / low, you only have to bet one chip to bet on almost half of all the numbers on the wheel. On the American bike you place 18 of the 38 numbers, while on the European bike you place 18 of the 37 numbers. That’s a lot of numbers for a single chip bet.

If you use the “surrender” or “en prison” rule, you only have half of the actual house edge on your bets. There is no reason to make other bets unless you want to lose more money.

But what about the players who love this big payout when betting directly on a single number? I’m sure a 35 to 1 win is a great payout. Still, these profits don’t come very often, do they?

The house edge is always 5.26 percent or 2.7 percent for every single bet, but your chances of winning on a particular bet with the highest win rate are far higher than your chances of winning on a 35 to 1 payout. Furthermore, many players cannot resist Spending more (or far more) money when betting on a number than when you make one of the best bets with less money. Take this into account.

Please note: The main bets are odd / even, red / black or high / low and are also referred to as even bets because they have a 1 to 1 payout. You bet € 10 and your winnings are € 10 accordingly.

If you want to save money and still have a lot of fun playing roulette, I would encourage you to think seriously about wagering only on these opportunities. If the casino game has either “surrender” or “en prison”, there should be no question about just using them as your betting options. Why would someone want to compete against a house edge that is twice as high in games without a “whirring” or “en prison”?

I wish you all the best inside and outside the casinos!
